In-Person Tutoring: Drop-ins welcome! Check the schedule for subject hours. Tutors circulate among students to answer questions and provide assistance. Tutors will work with more than one student at a time, so one-on-one tutoring is not guaranteed for drop-ins. For more individual attention, please schedule an appointment (if available for your subject).

Appointments: Available online for limited subjects through Teams and in-person for writing. Appointments are limited to one hour per subject area per day. Cancellation is required 2 hours in advance if you are unable to attend. Missing 3 appointments without cancellation will result in not being able to schedule appointments. The content coordinator will determine at their discretion how you can have appointment creation privileges reinstated. Appointments can be scheduled through Navigate.

Locations

The Center for Academic Engagement has tutoring centers on the Jamestown, Greensboro and High Point campuses. The Aviation campus has tutoring in the library. The Cameron campus has tutoring by appointment with a week in advance notice.

Online Tutoring

Please use Navigate or the Navigate App to schedule evening online appointments

Online Tutoring is split into two locations. Use Online Appointments Daytime for appointments from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Online After Hours for appointments from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Note that only certain content areas have online tutoring hours. If you do not see your content area listed, support can be found in Tutor.com. Tutor.com is a 24/7 tutor service that has most of the content areas that are taught at the college.

Peer Tutor / Missing an Area?


Want to be a peer tutor for the CAE? Want to work in one of our centers or be embedded in a classroom. Fill out one of the applications below to be considered for a position. STEM Peer Tutor Embedded Writing Peer Tutor Art Peer Tutor General Education Peer Tutor Computer Peer Tutor Applied Science (CTE) Peer Tutor		Need Tutoring in an area that we do not offer. Email the CAE at CAE@GTCC.EDU to request a tutor for a course. In the email, please include your name, what campus you are one and the course you are in. We will try to hire a tutor as fast as we can to help you. It may take a few weeks to get them onboard. Please use Tutor.com until we can find a tutor.
