To Do List
- If you copied a previous semesters Canvas page over to your current semester and your course had the DayONE Access Module and link already on it then this will copy over to your current semesters Canvas page. You will find that you have both the copied Module and link from your previous page and the auto uploaded one from VitalSource, delete one.
- If this is your first time your course is in the DayONE Access program, you will only have the DayONE Access module and link auto uploaded by VitalSource.
- This new link will be found under Modules. The module is named: DayONE Access (eTextbook and Courseware).
- The DayONE Access link is where students will go to access the Pearson Courseware, eBook and to opt out of the program. Please do not change the name of this Module
- Move the DayONE Access Module to the top of the Modules page so that students can easily find their course materials. (Video Instructions HERE Links to an external site.)
- Add a new tab to the DayONE Access module that includes the instructions below. (Name this tab something like: How to find your eText and MyLab or Instructions for locating course materials)
- Add a new tab to the DayONE Access module named “Troubleshooting Tips”.
Direct Students to the Course Materials
Add the instructions below into the DayONE Module to help students navigate to the course resources.
How to locate your eTextbook/courseware in Canvas for a DayONE Access course?
- Sign into Canvas and enter your Canvas course.
- Click on Modules from the left navigation bar.
- Click on the link DayONE Access (eTextbooks and Courseware)
- Launch Courseware to access the MyLab, Mastering or Revel course materials.
- Choose Read Now to access the ebook.
- If you have a Pearson account, enter your username and password. (You have an account if you have ever used a Pearson MyLab, Mastering or Revel product, such as MyLab Math, MyLab IT, MyLab Spanish, Mastering Biology, Mastering Physic or Revel for…)
- If you don’t have a Pearson account, select Create and follow the instructions. (use your GTCC.edu email to create your account)
- Select Go to My Courses

Opting Out of DayONE Access
Students are able to opt out of using DayONE Access. Please be advised it is NOT recommended students Opt-Out, as these materials are required by the course professor to complete the course and the fee charged is at a very low market price.
For students who would like opt out of DayONE:
- Click the ‘Want to opt-out?’ button
- Select your reason why
- Click Opt Out.
NOTE:
Students who Opt Out, will be responsible for purchasing the course materials on their own. A refund of their book/courseware fee will be put back on their student account to receive a refund in 4-6 weeks. Students will lose access to the courseware after the Opt Out deadline which is the 8th day of class for 16 week classes and the 6th day for 8 week classes.
Students who have purchased their own Pearson access code can activate it by clicking on the DayONE Access link in the course and then clicking Launch Courseware. The student may be prompted to log into Pearson. If so, they should log in using their GTCC email account. Once they have registered, they will be prompted to enter the access code.
Students are also able to purchase the code directly via Pearson. They can click on the DayONE link to launch the courseware, register and make the purchase.
