Proctorio

Proctorio is a comprehensive remote proctoring service offering identity verification and exam-proctoring services. Proctorio is a lockdown browser with monitoring.

Proctorio is not used Campus wide. Please check with eLearning prior to attempting to use Proctorio to make sure your department is approved to use it.

Instructions to Enable Proctorio in a Canvas Course

Note: Proctorio works best with Classic quizzes.

Click on the Settings link in the navigation menu in your course.
Click on the Navigation Tab (At the top).
Locate "Secure Exam Proctor" in the list. Click on the three dots, then click Enable.
Click the Save button.
Click the Update Course Details button.
Click on the Secure Exam Proctor link in the navigation menu.
If prompted install the browser extension.

If you have previously added Proctorio on the device you are using, you may not need to complete steps 6 & 7.

Instructions to Enable Proctorio in a Classic Quiz

Set up your quiz.
In the Edit area of the quiz under Quiz restrictions, select the box: Enable Proctorio Secure Exam Proctor.
Edit the settings.

When you click on the quiz prior to clicking the Edit button additional menu options for Proctorio will display at the right side of the page under the Related Items section.

To review proctored exams after the students have made submissions, click on the Proctorio Review Center.
To use the live exam proctor, click on the, "Proctorio Live Exams" link.
- The Live Exam link will allow you to see and monitor students testing in real-time.
