What is the last day of attendance?

The last day of attendance is considered the last day the student made a successful submission in the course. It is not the last day the student logged into the course. Once a student is made inactive in a course, the course instructor will not be able to see the student's grades via the course Grades link- (Class Gradebook), located in the white navigation menu. The instructor will access the student's gradebook via the People link and by clicking on the student's name.

Once you have logged into the Canvas course, click on the People link in the white navigation menu.

Locate the student in the list and then click on the student's name.

A window will display on the right side of the screen. Click on the Grades button.

The student's gradebook will display with submission details. Scroll down the gradebook to see all ungraded and graded items. A submitted date appears in this view. The default view is set to Arrange by Due Date.

Course instructors will be able to see their courses for up to one year from the start date of the course with student grade information intact.
