A

Add a graded item for something turned in Face-to-face.	Create and Assignment in Canvas giving students instructions and materials, assign the correct point values, and under Submission Type choose On Paper. The Gradebook in Canvas now shows the assignment.
Adding a Test/Quiz	Canvas calls all Auto Graded Assessments "Quizzes". Canvas Instruction Link Here. "We recommend adding the "Classic Quizzes".
Adding PowerPoints	You can use the File Upload option. In the Navigation Index go to Files and upload the ppt where you would like it to be stored. Then when you build a page, discussion or Assignment you can link the ppt in the Rich Text Editor and this will create a link for students.
Adding Videos	You have a few options. One, add the Video to Studio and link (Instruction Video Link). You can embed from studio or external sites this way. You can also use the media tool in the Rich Text Editor, Canvas Instruction link here.

Building vs. Importing

If your Course in Moodle was "good", Import. The material, structure, and organization will be there. Building from scratch will take more time, but you have more control. Start building a Module, and when you get one finished and are happy with the structure, you can duplicate it and edit content for the next easily.

Hide Assignments	To hide assignments from students you can: "unpublish" the assignment by clicking the green check mark icon to the right of the assignment name.
Hide Assignments in Gradebook	If you want to hide the grades from students as you grade papers or edit test scores, then BEFORE you start entering grades, go to the Assignment Name in Gradebook and in the 3 dots menu click "Grade Posting Policy" and then change the assignment to Manual and click Save. Enter Grades, then either "Post Grades" or change back to Post Grades Automatically.

Third-Party Tools

If you are using a third-party tool, Canvas makes it very easy to pull the information directly into your course. You do not have to go through the integration process as Matt will have to take care of that (and has for all of the major publishers). Note that you can place the link in your Navigation List for easy access by your students, your adjuncts, and yourself. According to faculty who taught in Canvas in Spring 2022, it is a much better learning experience for students if you pair your course with the tool and pull the assignments into Canvas.
